CHC43315 Certificate iV in Mental Health

Assessment

There are no examinations. Assessment has a very practical focus, with two components.

  • Research and investigation
Questions, scenarios and case studies are completed at your own pace over a period of approximately a month after the tutorial on that topic. Sometimes you will have to investigate a topic in order to provide written answers. Written work is emailed or posted to your assessor. This provides evidence that you have the necessary underpinning knowledge.

  • Demonstrations
The focus of the course is learning to support the mental health and wellbeing of others, which is an intensely practical and personal skill. Therefore, most demonstrations place you in the role of a mental health worker and you talk to someone with an emotional wellbeing challenge.  You work with someone who has been briefed to be the visitor, while the assessor observes the live interaction via the video conference link.
